NICE • DESCRIPTION AND REAL ESTATE MARKET

The city of Nice also known as “Nissa la bella” is located on the coast of the Baie des Anges. It is the second city of the department and has more than 350,000 inhabitants. Nice was once a popular destination for the European elite. Today it remains a very cosmopolitan city and a destination of choice for tourists and the acquisition of second homes; all attracted by an exceptional micro climate, its seven kilometers of beaches with turquoise waters, its local culture, the wealth of its markets and its museums. Its famous promenade des Anglais always remains the brand image of the city of Nice and hosts the famous Carnival and the Flower Battles every year. The city of Nice is very well served by transport which ensures an excellent connection between the forty-one districts that compose it.

Nice has a building stock of around 640,000 dwellings, 77% of which are apartments and 23% of houses. On the seafront and in Mont Boron there are luxury properties with superb sea views. The prices per square meter are very different according to the districts. They are at the lowest at 2,900 € / m2 for apartments and 3,500 € / m2 for houses and easily exceed 10,000 € / m2 for apartments and 13,000 € / m2 for houses in the most beautiful areas. However, an average of € 7,000 / m2 should be provided for apartments and € 8,500 / m2 for houses.
