HISTORY:
The Riviera Palace is a former Palace built in Beausoleil in 1898, on behalf of the Compagnie des wagons-lits by the architect Georges Chedanne.
It is now famous for its glass roof designed and built by Gustave Eiffel.
This hotel became the winter residence of the European aristocracy and upper middle class.
It became the Mecca of vacation for the rich Russian, Austro-Hungarian and then English clientele.
Like most Riviera palaces, it faces south.
Its elegant facade erected on a vast terrace is punctuated by numerous windows, bow windows, corbels, balconies and pottery balusters.
With the Great War over, the crazy spending and splendor of yesteryear are no longer appropriate.
The Philippe Lamaro company bought it and transformed it into apartments - a common destination for most of the large palaces on the Côte d'Azur.
The Riviera Palace is now listed as a historic monument since 1989.
